The preparation

Phenergan is an antihistamine also used for motion sickness, allergies, and sleep problems. We primarily use Phenergan here to help you find calm, for example as emergency medication during medication tapering.

Phenergan is used for sleep issues, but can also be used during medication tapering or if you need calm to avoid taking rescue medication for too many days.

The most common side effects are dry mouth and drowsiness. In general, Phenergan is well tolerated.

Precautions

Please be aware that alcohol, sleeping pills, strong painkillers, other allergy medication, and sedatives enhance the sedative effect of Phenergan.

Due to the sedative effect, caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.

What dosage should you take

Phenergan is taken when there is a need to doze off or sleep - either during the day or at night. The recommended dose is 1 tablet (25 mg). If there is insufficient effect or the effect wears off, you can take one more tablet after a minimum of 2 hours.

You must take a maximum of 75 mg - i.e., 3 tablets - per 24 hours.
