Specialized physiotherapy for concussion and whiplash
It can be difficult to know how to move forward after a concussion or whiplash. At Hemi, our specialized physiotherapists help you with an individual plan that creates security and progress.

Early help or long-term symptoms
Some patients come to us a few weeks after their injury.
Others have lived with symptoms for months or years.
In general, we often see that it is easier to make progress when challenges are addressed early. Therefore, it can be an advantage to seek help if symptoms continue to affect your daily life after the first four weeks.
At the same time, we also see that people with long-term symptoms can achieve meaningful improvements through a targeted and gradual effort.
Is this relevant to you?
For many people, the goal is not just fewer symptoms. The goal is to function better in everyday life. This program may be relevant if:

You are unsure about what you can do after a concussion or whiplash
You experience symptoms during physical or mental activity
You are unsure about how much you can handle in your daily life
You are afraid of worsening your symptoms
Work, studies, or family life are affected
You get tired or overloaded quickly
You want help to gradually increase your activity level

Why patients choose Hemi
We believe that a thorough assessment and an accurate diagnosis are essential to offering targeted treatment.

Specialized in concussion and whiplash
Our physiotherapists work specifically with people living with the long-term effects of concussion and whiplash.
This means we understand the challenges that can arise when symptoms affect work, studies, physical activity, and daily life.

More than just exercises
For many, rehabilitation is not about one specific exercise.
It is about understanding your symptoms, finding the right balance between exertion and recovery, and gradually rebuilding capacity and function.

Focus on everyday life
The goal is not necessarily to be able to exercise more.
The goal is to be able to live more. That is why we focus on the activities and roles that mean the most to you.

Online or in-person visits
The vast majority of our programs are conducted online via video.
You can also choose to visit one of our clinics in person.
What is the goal of the treatment program?
After a concussion or whiplash, it can be tempting to wait for the symptoms to disappear on their own.
But for many people, the way forward is to rebuild activity gradually and systematically.
The goal is not to push you through symptoms.
The goal is to help you find the right level so you can build more capacity over time and gain greater freedom in your daily life.

What does the research say?
Research indicates that active rehabilitation is often more effective than prolonged rest alone.
Specifically, graded physical activity, aerobic exercise, management of neck symptoms, and a systematic return to daily activities are among the interventions currently recommended for long-term symptoms following a concussion.
At Hemi, we translate this knowledge into concrete plans based on your situation and your goals.

How much physiotherapy should you expect?
The amount of physiotherapy needed after a concussion or whiplash varies. For some, a few consultations are enough, while others need support and follow-up over a longer period. Most people have about 3-10 consultations spread over 1-6 months.
In the beginning, you may need closer follow-up, while there is typically more time between consultations later on. You book and pay for only one consultation at a time and are not committed to a specific number of sessions. Most people should expect a total cost of around 2,500-8,000 DKK.
