What is whiplash - symptoms, causes, and treatment?

Whiplash, also known as whiplash associated disorder (WAD), often occurs as a result of a sudden and forceful movement of the head, typically in connection with car accidents, falls, or sports injuries.

The injury affects the neck as well as muscles, ligaments, and nerves, and the symptoms can vary in both type and severity. For some, the symptoms resolve on their own. For others, they persist and require targeted treatment.
